that believes the websites should exist beyond the cause of just
existing, but rather, should communicate and deliver effectively.
We think. We design. And we always make sure that its that order
- we wouldn't want misplaced creativity to destroy the message,
however, neither do we believe in corporate homogeneity.
We translate words into graphics, ideas into realisation. JL&A
has an almost equal balance of giving input to both working together
with startups and established businesses, and we can provide more
than the average "web design company" due to our strong
complementary services, for example, copywriting and identity design.

We have a deep understanding of content,
its creation and how to structure it. We are well versed in using
interactivity to communicate - using movement and tactile visualization
to assist navigation and understanding.
JL&A has a qualitative, not quantitative focus. We'll rather do
great repeat work for a few committed clients rather than one-off projects
with many. We aim to educate. We do not perpetuate the flawed metaphor
of charging by "pages". We aim to create works of substance,
and challenge to challenge the things that have unfortunately become
convention.
We work well where we are, for clients anywhere - our clientbase ranges
from USA, France, Singapore, Australia and is predominantly from Malaysia,
where we are based. |

Josh Lim is the principal behind Josh Lim & Associates (JL&A), an interactive agency that prides itself on an unconventional, yet commercially sensible approach to work. The company's capabilities, while at
its core focusing on high-end interactive websites, extend to interactive event installations, photography, print, motion graphics, branding and creative input for clients.
JL&A's clients include Proton Berhad, Chivas Regal, NagaCorp, The Manhattan Fish Market, BinaFikir. Through agency partners, JL&A has also handled major campaigns for Celcom Berhad and Cineleisure Damansara.
The results of the work not only speak for themself, but prompt other voices as well. Founder and director Josh Lim, has been interviewed on TV3, 8TV and Astro Ria in addition to being featured in The Star, along with other media publications. After having had the opportunity to work with some of Malaysia's leading web design & creative companies, Josh Lim desired an outlet to channel his personal creative beliefs.
Believing that a name for a web design company with a difference need not have "e", "cyber" or "tech" prefixes, Josh Lim & Associates was formed with a focus on intelligent cross-media design for humans.
Besides being self-taught in interactive design even before Internet Explorer existed, prior experience in the fields of stage acting in The Actor’s Studio and copywriting gave Josh Lim an understanding of communicating via various mediums. Even while in his teens, he represented Malaysia in an international web design project organized by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. He co-founded doxob.com, a local association for interactive designers and is instrumental to the success of an active internship program under Josh Lim & Associates for college students in the fields of design and communication.
He continues to push the importance of digital marketing, sometimes through unconventional means. Dissatisfied with the state of non-integrated advertising in Malaysia, Josh Lim made headlines in a few years back by registering the untaken domain name related to a RM30 million regional advertising campaign, and then made it a critique clearly spotlighting their failure to embrace digital marketing. The ensuing fracas became a case study in a local university as well as a key news item in The Star In-Tech, CNet Asia and The Edge ( Malaysia & Singapore).
He is also an active public speaker and has previous spoken at conferences and seminars organized by Microsoft, The Ministry Of Human Resources ( Malaysia), Multimedia University (Malaysia) and the Asia Business Forum.
